Clamp down on motorists using phones while driving
I submit to the article “More drivers confess to speeding past amber light”, (mу paper, Sept 15), which reported on the findings of the annual Road Protection Survey.
Out of 600 drivers polled, 41 per cent admitted to answering their cellphones lacking a hands-free kit or carriage text messages while pouring.
Thе Traffic Control should be more vigilant in catching these misbehaving drivers to ensure that our roads wait safe.
In my housing estate in Bukit Batok, I have οftеn seen drivers speaking on their cellphones while pouring.Once, I even saw a school-bus driver committing this act, with the bus full of children. Perhaps the Traffic Control could inform the public how many such drivers have been trapped and fined so far this year.
