Texting even as pouring is a huge distraction for ANYONE. There is no human being on this planet who’s text message is worth the risk. On the flip side of it is the fact that some activities even as pouring do not distract the driver enough to necessitate the encroachment of regulation over freedom.

Eating a burger is not that distracting, neither is smoking or tuning the radio in most situations. There has never been any enough people who eat, read, place on make-up, or it has never been perilous enough to spark much debate. My guess is that most people know conception at the wheel is extremely perilous, and even as you may see the occasional dumba$$ on the asphalt, it is not nearly a well loved enough activity to start a lot of wrecks, therefore leaving the activity un-debated.

The reason texting has become a debate at all is that it causes accidents more than other activities. In this case people can apparently not be left to the rule of common sense because common sense tells you that doing something like texting is purely and utterly stupid. If you believe otherwise you should be allowed to kill yourself, therefore removing yourself from the gene pool as a humanitarian gesture. The problem is that YOU are not the only one in danger.

We need to set lines as a society. We normally do, though now and again the knee jerk reaction is to go to far. Making texting illegal, excellent, Making all activities illegal even as pouring, terrible. Texting has presented itself as a major protection hazard, there is no (rational, sane, or intelligent) question about it.

As far as any idiot who beleives they can do it securely, reflect of this, each other douche bag-a$$hole who has been in an accident due to texting plotting themselves just as capable as you to text and drive. That is exactly where the problem comes from.

I reflect so, i have ate and drove and it perilous as well. Pouring anyways is perilous. Got to mind out for ancient people. they cant drive at least the ones nearly here

There have been studies that show drivers using cell phones have a slower reaction time than a drunk driver. Now add in texting and it spells certain doom. I wish the control would start ticketing these people.

wretched i know you don’t want to hear this but anything someone does even as pouring that takes even a tiny part of their attention away from the road is a distraction… this includes talking on the phone, texting, eating even as pouring, smoking, drinking (even just water) even as pouring and talking to other people in the car

even as you sit there and say "i can eat chips and drive but texting is a even as other ballgame" is limited to just you. plenty of people can send a text message, smoke, have a sip of coffee in the morning or talk to people on the phone or in the car even as still being able to drive.. but all of them are a distraction because it is taking part of your attention away from the road

when people light up a cig… they use two hands.. how many era do people who text use two hands? very rarely.. in my mind it all depends on the ability of each individual driver.. but again since laws must be applied to everyone and not on a case by case evaulation, laws will be voted for to prevent the worse driver from apt even worse by texting even as pouring

if you use a numerical keypad rather than a qwerty keyboard/upset screen, its not as terrible.
mostly because i was able to do that, its just like talking on speaker phone.

i mean, then i any had my arm out the window or i was texting with it.
but now i got a phone with a qwerty and touchscreen so i dont text at all.
i just use a bluetooth headset and use voice recollection through my Palm TX which just transmits the message to my phone and sends from there.

you shouldnt eat chips when you’re pouring.

besides. statistics mean nothing. our society today is made up of "god fearing nationalists who feel its their duty to populate the nation"
as stated by NOFX, the idiots are taking over.
bottom line there is that the majority cant multitask. that doesnt necessarily mean that the rest of us are just as retarded.
im wretched you cant text and drive.
    thats not my issue.
