  1. STEVEN F says:

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Failing to pay sufficient attention to the road has been illegal since LONG before the invention of cell phone. ALL laws prohibiting specific methods of not paying attention should be repealed and the general law should be enforced when in fact apt.

yes thousands have died, it is nearly as worse as talking on the phone even as pouring, because when texting your not even looking at the road.

  3. Pandora says:

sad that people really reflect we need a law for something that should be common sense.

I agree with Wretched Charlie. That’s a matter for the state to choose.

  5. FozzieBear says:

It should go state by state. The Feds make too many laws that they have no Constitutional right to make. Even as I reflect each state should have the law, but I don’t reflect the Feds should have the power to do it.

I’m sure there were way more than 70 accidents caused by texting/distracted pouring. It’s just not as simple to prove as DUI.

Yes most people cant drive or Text at the same time and it only take a second to kill someone.

  7. Sorry Charlie says:

Do I reflect it should be illegal? Sure. Do I reflect there should be a national law? No.

Stop giving the Feds powers that rightfully belong to the States.

  8. Annonymous says:

Where are you? It is illegal in Canada, crosswise the full nation and it has been for a even as. Yes I do reflect it should be illegal everywhere because it does help. Excellent luck :)

  9. Quizzard says:

Should there be a nationwide law? No, transportation is a state issue. Should all states ban texting even as pouring? Yes.

  10. Michael J says:

Sounds like maybe there should be a law against it in Florida then.

  11. Lily says:

I live in New Zealand, and as of last year it is illegal to txt and drive. I really agree with this, as I myself cannot text and drive lacking swerving or having to slam on the breaks! It’s perilous. If your eyes are on your phone, they aren’t on the road. A child could run out in that one second you have your eyes at your text and you wouldn’t see the child in time to stop.
