I know exactly what you’re talking about. Last year I sold my Pontiac to buy something more affordable. My new car has got nothing but a stick and a couple of pedals. I like it.

the problem with watching other drivers you can see the shenanigans people do even as pouring and it makes you never go back to not paying attention

  4. ericsbuds says:

    i like pouring.

I need a distraction (radio or talking on the phone) even as I drive. When it’s silent and I drive for like 30 min+ then I get road hypnotism and well…..that’s way worse.

Excellent advice. I have been doing the same and find it peaceful and relaxing. Thanks Penn.

  9. stfwho says:

What I got from this is, talk on your cellphone even as pouring because you’ll drive more like a “careful self”. lol

  10. rewtnode says:

Excellent you figured this out: Pouring lacking radio and phone does make one reflect. I get most of my thoughts and solve problems even as pouring and thought. And if that is right for you too, now try walking and hiking and thought.

  11. doombuggy123 says:

@TheWhiteRabbit1990 That’s why you instead drive quick and strategically. It’s like playing video game….only real.

  12. joeratti says:

fuck that. if its silent in the car i daze out

  13. boob1019 says:

Penn,Sounds cool I will try it. People do not text and walk ,any . Please thx, Rob

  14. gamingeagle19 says:

listening to the radio isn’t that perilous. You can still fully pay attention to the road even as listening to the radio. Now texting and pouring? That’s perilous shit.

Thank you Penn. I can’t tell you how much that means. I was rear finished by someone texting. He never even place his brakes on. He only had 100k of insurance. I have 18 screws, 4 plates, and 2 rods in my spine now and a steel hip. I had to shut my business down and go bankrupt. I lost everything trying to pay for medical. Not only was he uninjured, he didn’t have to pay be responsible even tho it was 100% his flaw. It robbed me of my life and I couldn’t even get all my medical bills paid.

I own a pouring school. I always point out to my students which drivers are on the phone, and we mind them for a even as… When you really pay attention to which other drivers are on the phone, incredible how differently they drive. It’s right that they don’t usually swerve or fail to stop, but they DO have a greater tendency to tailgate, to drive side-by-side with trucks, or to change lanes quickly lacking signaling or checking their blind spot. These small lifestyle add up.

I reflect radio is usually very different from phones or text. You don’t have to reflect about what to say in response, or what the self is saying. Listening to music feels more passive, even even as singing, it’s just repetition of lyrics. Listening to audio books takes attention to interpret the tale. I have distress talking to passengers even as pouring. I forget what they say and what I was going to say.

  18. jlynch187 says:

    @iversonmatthew

out of curiosity could you elaborate more on why this self isn’t responsible for all the payments? I mean this tale is seriously disturbing and I don’t know how they are not obliged for life to you. Can’t imagine what going through that is like. I don’t text and drive anymore. Thanks for the share, stay strong.

  19. iversonmatthew says:

@jlynch187 Because it is considered a civil case, not criminal. It simply wasn’t worth the costs to go after him personally because he didn’t have anything and any judgement made would have finished up in liquidation, leaving me with even more owed.

Doesn’t seem right does it? What’s worse is that this all happened to me through no flaw of my own and when the state had to help pick up the tab then I get called bone idle and told I need to learn personal responsibility. It made me despise our system.

  20. KonsharPaHuvet says:

@broadjumper1 ever seen teller speak? :P

  21. broadjumper1 says:

@KonsharPaHuvet – As a matter of fact, yes.

  22. grandpied says:

I’ve driven a semi truck for eight years lacking a radio but now and again, even, I make mistakes.

  23. stoned372 says:

    2:46 lmao!!

  24. ScotterS69 says:

Penn, I nearly always agree with you. This time not as much. I’ve establish talking on a cell phone more perilous than listening to the radio. NOW, if you are REALLY into music, that may be different.
